I really like Taylor Swift and her music. I've heard a lot of people complaining her music (or at least her lyrics) are immature and childish, but I relate really well to them. Maybe this is partly due to the fact that I emotionally feel much younger than my age, I'm really naive, my emotions tend to be really clear and basic (though strong), etc. Taylor Swift often writes from personal experience, including about break ups or how ex-boyfriends wronged her, which I would probably write about if I were a musician (I already do in my poetry, anyways).

You accidentally made my day
Who indirectly or unwittingly contributed to the joy in your life?

Who introduced you to something that you now enjoy a lot? Who first introduced you to your significant other? Who stepped out of the way just in time to open up a great opportunity for you?

Some of my teachers in high school and college made me very happy due to their sense of humor and kindness toward me. My high school art teacher and art history teacher both made me feel very relaxed and I found my art history teacher very funny (though he made jokes based on the reading material and I was practically the only student who did the reading). I wasn't unhappy during that time, in general, but I was very unhappy in school -- it was too overloading for me. A girl in my last art class in college used to play a Tori Amos cd in the art room after class when we'd be in the art studio painting and I thought Tori Amos sounded so magical and fairy tale-like. I slowly became a big Tori Amos fan. I listened to her songs every day, often all day, for a recent period of years. I don't listen to her every day now, but a lot of days I do. No one introduced me to Michael -- he found me on LiveJournal and IM'ed me. I guess my ex-boyfriend before I met Michael opened an opportunity for me by leaving me and me feeling so lonely afterward. It's why I decided to start a LiveJournal, so I'd have more people to communicate with. It's also how I met Michael and a number of friends. I'm pretty much over the damage of that particular ex-boyfriend and can laugh at the situation.

The Tori Amos concert was wonderful. It was like a trip to Disney World! My mother would have gotten a migraine and thrown up, probably, due to all the light displays. But the lighting was very pretty and magical. Tori was very intense and the energy was so strong I was on the edge of my seat. My neck got sore:( Michael switched seats with me since I am short and could not see. We met up with Izzy and Matt, who were just two rows in front of us. They are really nice:) I hugged Izzy and I'm very selective about who I let touch me. Her hugs are nice. She was really beautiful. Unfortunately my mother's camera's batteries ran out right after we took a picture of the theater from outside!:( So hopefully Izzy will send me her Tori pictures, and the picture of her and me, and of Michael and me. I'm sure they got better pictures than I would have gotten, anyway. I can't wait to see Tori Amos again! I also liked her opening band, One Eskimo.

Here is her setlist for the Chicago concert, via Izzy:

Her Set List )

Precious Things was my favorite:-)

We actually had an easy time finding my mother for pick up, which was surprising and relieving. Next time we want to go to that area we can take the Metra train, but I didn't know it went to that area. Oh well. And while waiting for my mother Michael and I saw a little puppet show with animals and I tipped them a dollar. It was so cute!
This is what it was: http://puppetbike.com/

Though I didn't eat or drink all day in preparation for Tori's concert and because I get nervous doing new things or going new places. This morning when I tried to get up I collapsed and couldn't see except for a doughnut of light. Michael helped me back into bed and got me water and a graham cracker.

Today my mother thought I'd become (hypo)manic again because I seemed very excited and happy for no apparent reason. I'd probably still be manic if I hadn't gone back on Zyprexa and just like when I was depressed it wasn't completely controlled by medication (at all), the mania is probably the same way and some of it probably seeps through. Sometimes I have really sudden ecstatic times where I feel one with the universe and I'm completely overwhelmed with joy but some of those times might be seizures. I have lots of blank out spells or times where I don't remember doing things that are also thought to possibly be seizures (one time leading me nearly to run my mother over with a car in the middle of the night, feeling numb, which is when I stopped being allowed to drive). All my life, though, I've been intensely emotional and often I've been unusually happy. Even when I had bad things going on in my life like horrible school and family experiences, the sensory experience of my surroundings and my inner life could lead me to be extremely happy. When I received the Sailor Moon cd in the mail that I ordered when I was 15 (I was obsessed with Sailor Moon) I just went nuts. Rocking and crying and gasping for air, unable to breathe I was so overwhelmed. I played the same song on repeat. I still do that and music sometimes gives me that response again by playing it over and over. Today I've listened to television show theme songs over and over and that is part of what lifted my mood so much. The two songs are the theme song to Blossom and the theme song to Brotherly Love, both starring Joey Lawrence. I also love the old television show Gimme a Break! which he was also in (and I like that theme song too!) I hope my good mood lasts.

I'm debating whether to buy the new Tori Amos cd, Abnormally Attracted to Sin, autographed or to buy it from itunes to get the password for buying early concert tickets to her summer concert. Chicago sold out last year and since Tori canceled a lot of venues I worry they will sell out fast. I might buy both! Especially if I'm on Klonopin since that lowers my inhibitions. I love Tori Amos and I really want to go to her concert... And I really want her autograph since I had problems obtaining her signed Special Edition of Comic Book Tattoo.

Edit: Just bought the autographed cd...

Well I started getting bad obsessions again, but then my thoughts returned to Tori Amos:-) Ah, Tori. I have a book to read that I'm FINALLY going to start soon. And I'm going to post the poem I wrote today. Some cd's came in for me at the library and I will probably pick them up on the way home (I'm thinking I'll go home Thursday, but I have to talk to my mother -- longer than that and I need to do wash here). I love getting new, positive topics to obsess over. I'll probably play my Nintendo DS game "My World, My Way" as that's always good when I'm having trouble concentrating. Michael is at the dentist right now and I just finished eating a bowl of granola. We finally watched another episode of Hercules last night because we finished Fruits Basket. The nights have been calm.

I spent this morning all excited about the upcoming Tori Amos tour and I set up a ticketmaster account for myself, with the billing in place. I set an "alert" for Tori Amos, though I will probably find our more about her tour through various other sources. I really want to get tickets. I've never been to a regular indoor concert before. I also pre-ordered the cd Abnormally Attracted to Sin: Deluxe Edition. I've written about how Tori Amos's music makes me feel and I've written quotes from her. She's quite fascinating. Lately I've been really anxious in the mornings and feel better at nights (the reverse of normal), so I'm glad I have something to distract myself with today. I'm too antsy to read right now.

Tori Amos is releasing a new album and will be touring from July until Christmas. I'm assuming she'll be touring in Chicago and I'll have to buy tickets as soon as they come out. I missed her tour last time, sadly (not knowing at the time that she was touring -- I am trying to be better at keeping up about such things). If she does signings I'll have my Comic Book Tattoo book signed:D

I thought "Bernadette" by the Four Tops (an older song) was called "Burn to Death" until I was about 12 or so. My mother found that quite morbid.

I've been listening a lot to the Jem and the Holograms songs a friend sent me. They are so catchy and there are so many of them! There seems a song for every occasion and I catch them playing in my head at appropriate moments. Even though it's a children's show the songs can extend beyond a child's experience and fit just about anything, if the song is just considered subtle. I do have some favorite songs, like "Deception," "Flowers," and "Set Your Sails."

Overall, I LOVED Comic Book Tattoo!! I don't regret reading even one comic. That said, some were favorites and some were less favored.

These are my favorites and least favorites lists:

Favorites
Girl
Merman
Toast
Here. In My Hand
Little Amsterdam
Teenage Hustling
1000 Oceans
Honey
Caught a Lite Sneeze
Cornflake Girl

Least Favorites
Mr. Zebra
Iieee
Silent All These Years (this is admittedly due to the fact that the comic made me uncomfortable and hit too close to home)
Pandora's Aquarium
Scarlet's Walk

1000 Oceans was strange and confusing but the art was beautiful and it was so mythological that it won me over:D
