Today I was not very anxious. I did feel like fainting when I woke up, though. My head felt heavy and cold, my hands felt cold. Upon standing, I swayed and saw black. So after breakfast (oatmeal) and not feeling better, I had some chicken, which helped very quickly. It had been a couple days since I'd had meat. I'm super reliant on it. I'm going to try rice and beans since it's supposed to also be a complete protein. I felt tired from the Valerian I took earlier and laid down in bed for awhile. I finished reading a book. I felt steady enough to shower and afterwards I was freezing cold.

I received Cinderella the dvd/Blu-ray combo in the mail today, as well as my neuro/cardio bill. I was charged nothing for neuro, presumably because I had Medicaid as well as Medicare then. I was charged $80 for cardio, after I was taken off Medicaid. I just paid the bill to not deal with the hassle, though I hope I get re-approved for Medicaid. I think with my bank statement I have a good chance.

Michael and Dan went on a trip up to eastern Wisconsin, just past the Illinois border, looking at a bunch of stores. I was picked up by our friend Kat and brought to her condo where a group was playing Scrabble and Bananagrams and I watched (by choice). We talked and I had peppermint tea and we ate veggie pizza. I ate three pieces. I don't know why I didn't get full sooner... And now I'm paying for it with bad gas -- bloated and abdominal cramping. I'm drinking more peppermint tea to see if that helps.

Now I'm back at home, drinking tea, about to take my meds, and I've turned on the heat to 68 degrees. I'm probably going to sleep in the clothes I'm wearing and just take my bra off and wear lots of layers (I'm wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt, thermal leggings, lounge pants, as well as a fleece sweater. It's probably about time to wash and put away the new jersey sheets and put on the old flannel sheets. Then eventually the fleece.

My goals for tomorrow:
-Pick up clutter
-Put old vacuum into my brother's car, as well as other recyclable electronics
-Rearrange bookshelves and get rid of more books possibly
-Work on CBT book
-Journal
-Read
-Watch movie
-Back up everything onto my external hard drive
-Clean the litterboxes
-Dust
-Email/Internet stuff
-See if I have any more clothes to get rid of
-Put away/break down boxes

I've broken a couple rules and bought myself 2 $0.01 books from amazon.com the past 2 days. They require $3.99 shipping, so really it's $8.00. I already have books to read!>_< I'm also craving clothes, but I just bought clothes. So maybe this is less superficial of me? We can only hope... I also finished buying Michael's birthday presents and paid my hospital bill and ambulance bill. I paid rent and credit card and netflix. My major bills in waiting that are unavoidable: electric, gas, Valium, and cat food. Other things I will spring for are: food/coffee out with friends and the pumpkin farm. Maybe I will find myself up to buying some Christmas presents early. Who knows? I will wait until later in the month in case of more unexpected bills before I buy anything unnecessary and unexpected. I'd love to use my credit card barely at all so next month I have more money in my checking account and can pay back my $80 for the external hard drive back to my packet of savings. That would be a good start on my quest for saving. A quest that mostly will have to wait until after Christmas.

Yesterday was pretty good, but ordinary. Today has been a pretty great day for my birthday!♥ I have some bad memories around this time of year, but last year's birthday was good and this one was better in some ways. And it's not over yet, so hopefully it will continue to be good!

It was quite snowy, but Michael and I were able to pull out of the driveway to drive to the movie theater. I wore the dark blue floral Aerie dress that Michael gave me for Christmas, a tank top, black leggings, and a pink and white scarf. I wore my winter boots and heavy coat. Michael had given me eyeshadow for my birthday and let me have it early, my mother gave me boots early, and my brother gave me a coat early, so no presents to open today, which was fine.

We went to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D. It's a great movie! I didn't care about the 3D part -- I love Disney movies. And they had a short Tangled after-story shown before Beauty and the Beast. It was cute.

Then Michael and I met my mother, brother, and Dan (friend of Michael's and mine) at a Japanese restaurant in Lisle that served hibachi. There were tables each with their own cooking area for the chef, where he cooked everything right in front of you. The lunch meals came with miso soup (my first time having it! It was good!), salad with a ginger dressing (also good, even though I usually don't like ginger), then the main entree -- wheat noodles mixed with vegetables, fried rice, and meat/fish. I had hibachi sirloin steak cooked medium. My mother had basically the same thing, but with Teriyaki sauce. They gave us a ginger sauce and horseradish for dipping. They also had green tea, which I didn't have because I knew I didn't like it. I'm really bad at eating with chopsticks:P It was really good food, though, and tons of it. I ate all my food, minus the mushrooms and some vegetables, and my mother's noodles. My mother, unexpectedly, paid for all our meals!

I went out later with my mother to Fannie May (a candy store) and my mother bought me 1/2lb (two 1/4lb pieces) of maple nut fudge. One is in the freezer now. I will allow myself a tiny piece each day. I still have to exercise tonight. Dan is over right now, though he works tonight.

I received a manga in the mail (Neon Genesis Evangelion: The Raising Shinji Ikari Project) and a ring and note from one of my aunts. The ring has a purple stone in it (amethyst?) and fits on my index finger. She misspelled my name on the letter:(

Hopefully the rest of today goes great, too! I'm going to try and think of myself as "leveling up" with each birthday instead of just getting old. I've had several friends refer to birthdays as that before...

1. Michael's father giving me "sweet pea" body gel and body lotion for Christmas
2. Getting a good deal on the video game Michael's mother wanted and giving it to her for Christmas/her birthday
3. Returning the sweater that didn't fit Michael's mother without a problem
4. Reading more of The Japanese Psyche (only reading a chapter a day now because it's rather dry and I'm already struggling with anxiety)
5. Watching Kobato with Michael

Today went well, for the most part. I copied Michael's mother's Christmas cd's onto my computer. We watched more Christmas specials and will be watching The Snowman momentarily. Michael's mother and sister spent most of the day making Christmas cookies. We were going to stop by Michael's father's house but he didn't answer his phone all afternoon and by the time we got ahold of him it was too late and we were preparing for dinner and gift opening, immediately after Michael and I leaving for church for their Christmas Eve service.

I felt so guilty because I didn't include the gift receipt with Michael's mother's sweater!:( I must have stupidly thrown it out. It was a medium, but she's gained some weight. I really hope it still fits her or she likes it well enough to hold onto in case she loses weight (she's going on a diet after the holidays). I also made her a painting of lilacs, which she liked. I gave Michael's sister eyeshadow and primer and Michael gave her a tripod. Michael's friend Dan also visited in the afternoon and he gave us the Saturday Night Live board game and the He-Man and She-Ra Christmas special (we will watch that tomorrow!) He also bought Michael a video game. Michael gave him some anime.

There was no serious drama at Michael's mother's house for a change, which was nice. It took us 45 minutes to get to church from Michael's mother's house, so it's good we left at 7pm (church started at 8pm). We had lit candles during "Silent Night." There were Christmas readings and carols. We will probably be going to the Christmas service at 11:15am tomorrow, too. It will also be Christmas-themed with carols. We are recording the Disney Christmas parade that will be going on then.

These are the presents I received today:
-A very soft and warm robe with rainbow stars on it from Michael's mother
-Fairy Tales: A New History by Ruth B. Bottingheimer from Michael's sister
-The first two books of L.J. Smith's The Secret Circle (which I bought in 2001 before they were popular, so I gave the copy to my brother as a gift for fixing my internet problem)
-Everwood seasons 3 and 4 from my brother
-A lavender sweater from my mother (which I had to open tonight because the box was all wet)
In my stocking:
-A Disney princess coloring and activity book
-A Tinkerbell and fairies coloring and activity book
-Dark chocolate buttercreams and Mays (chocolate filling)
-Dark chocolate Reese's peanut butter cups
-Candy buttons (which I gave to Michael)
-Ankle socks, some argyle
-A fuzzy, colorful scarf
-My Nicor gas bill:P Almost $90! I've got to keep the heat down this month...

I'm wearing the new robe now:-) I think my Victorian-style nightgown might have to be thrown out due to stains... I always wore it every Christmas to imitate the Nutcracker. I always wanted to be whisked away to a magic land. I also love nutcrackers.

I've decided I'm going to get Michael's mother and sister birthday gifts since they both have birthdays in January. Maybe we can visit them shortly after my birthday. I intend to get his mother a sweater in a size Large with a gift receipt this time. I feel so guilty over that...

Overall, a great Christmas Eve!:D

At my mother's today I spent most of my time playing Solitaire on my computer:P I could have started reading the last Harry Potter book (my uncle brought it with him), but I felt like I couldn't concentrate. Dinner was good (my mother cooked). Opening presents was fun. My aunt and uncle gave me a really pretty white sweater (there were no pink sweaters and my aunt remembered I also like the color white). My aunt and uncle also gave me a $75 gift certificate to amazon with which I bought The Care Bears: 25th Anniversary dvd set, Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 dvd set, Mining the Soul (Jungian psychology), The Spiritual Enneagram, and Literary Lost (about the television series Lost). My mother's boyfriend gave me a $50 gift certificate to Victoria's Secret and I immediately got on the computer to use it before everything I like is sold out in their semi-annual sale. There was one pair of pajamas left in a design I like (dark blue fading into yellow with snowflakes); they're styled after Long John's/thermal underwear. I also bought a sweater in the color "wine tweed." I went a little over my gift card at each place, which was expected. My mother's boyfriend also gave me his gift certificate to the salon/spa his sister always gives my mother and him gift certificates to; he hates that stuff.

Tonight Michael and I will probably watch the Charlie Brown Christmas special on hulu.com and something called "Father Christmas" which is on his dvd of "The Snowman" which he didn't bring.

I hope everyone else that celebrates has had a good Christmas!:D

I had a bit of a rough time late last night because I was very bloated and freaking out over it (thinking I had gained a ton of weight overnight instead of it just being bloating). Also Michael couldn't find his dvd of The Snowman so we downloaded it and watched it. Because I was in such a bad mood I took a Klonopin and that settled me down. Michael calmed down because I became calmer. We watched The Nutcracker Prince before bed, too, and I wore my pink Victorian-style nightgown to bed.

This morning we got up and opened presents.

These are the presents I received --

Michael:
Bella Sara horse - Nike
Bella Sara horse - Valkrist
Who's the Boss? season 1 dvd set
The Nanny season 1 dvd set
Glee, first season dvd set
(and as of yesterday, the Dal doll named Melize)
Xena graphic novel (received 12/29)

Michael's mother:
Dark pink hooded sweater

Michael's sister:
Fruits Basket bookmark

Maria:
A KIMONO!!!! Pale pink with red roses! Along with the wooden shoes with dark pink cloth around the front of the foot and some hair pieces and the ribbons for wrapping around the kimono. This is an amazing gift!!! I will wear it to the Japanese festivals in the summer:-)

Disney Princess Memory Game
Ever After dvd
Thumbelina dvd
Fern Gully dvd
Birnbaum's Disney World 2011 book
A silver ballerina Christmas tree ornament
A threadless t-shirt of a fairy with butterflies and leaves

I just had my whole post written up and then my cat stepped on it and deleted the whole thing!:( I'm so upset.

Today Michael had his new tire put on and my mother's boyfriend didn't charge him for it, which was really nice of him<3 Michael and I exchanged one gift with each other this afternoon and he gave me the Dal (same creator as Pullip dolls), Melize. She wears a teddy bear costume and a patterned apron. Then late this afternoon we went to my mother's house and took pictures and opened presents. Then my brother, Michael, and I played Uno. We ate spinach dip with bread and cookies. Tomorrow my mother's family comes over and we will have a big dinner/lunch and open more presents. My mother even filled my brother's and my stockings tonight, which she hasn't done for many years. My mother really liked her gifts (clothes and a gift certificate from Express for her to buy jeans).

These are the presents my mother and brother gave me:

Mother:
Stocking: 2 sets of colorful Bic pens
2 packs of Reese's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
2 large Trinidad chocolates from Fannie May
1 small milk chocolate Santa (which I'm giving to Michael, as I don't eat milk chocolate)
Body shimmer from Victoria's Secret
Maple nut fudge from Fannie May
Set of thin Crayola markers
Red braided bracelet with a silver heart with wings on it

Regular gifts: Puff the Magic Dragon dvd
Strawberry Shortcake dvd
Cabinet de Fees: a Fairy Tale Journal (book)
Waking Rose by Regina Doman
Black as Night by Regina Doman
The Midnight Dancers by Regina Doman
The Sidhe: Wisdom from the Celtic Otherworld by John Matthews
short mauve ruffled skirt
light blue/gray top with angel sleeves and cream buttons
Victoria's Secret "Polar Bears on Ice" thermal pajamas and slippers

Brother, Tommy:
Charles Vess art book
Princess and the Goblin dvd
Fables, vol. 11

Also April and Phil gave me a lavender unicorn pillow animal and Izzy gave me Fables, vol. 12 and the Tangled video game for Christmas/my birthday:-)

Today Michael and I exchanged my cat food I bought yesterday for a different kind because Bunny was having trouble digesting that type of cat food. Then my brother brought us some food to eat that he picked up after work. Michael and I went on a bike ride into downtown Glen Ellyn, returned a library book, ate ice cream at the snack shop, and stopped at the park to go on the swings. I haven't been on swings since I was at college! They make me a bit motion sickness now:P Then we came back and I hope to start a painting tonight and get some reading done. I haven't yet returned to painting, though I've had new canvases for awhile. I think I will paint Amber's horses. So far today has gone pretty well:-) Also Izzy bought me the new Taylor Swift cd! So exciting. I really like it.

The cat shelter went well. I did help with cleaning, but I didn't have to clean the litterboxes. Bruiser is now out of his cage and was hopping along. He still retreats to the cage a lot, though, because he sees it as his. My allergies didn't bother me at all:) I did take a Klonopin before going, just in case. It probably wasn't necessary, though. I will have to refill my Klonopin soon...

I received a wonderful surprise today -- Izzy gave me the book Clockwork Phoenix 3! I loved the first two and had not realized the third had come out. Time passes so fast for me and it feels so recent that the second came out. I can't wait to read it, but I should finish The Unicorn Chronicles first. I'm going to write my poem in a minute and then maybe eat some oatmeal. Then I will read.

Today I forced myself to get up early and Michael and I went to Cosley Zoo, which is a small zoo that has animals not fit for the wild. Most of them were in the barn, including a big area where the ducks and geese were because their little pond was frozen over. The horses and llamas were outside, as were the deer and foxes and coyote. The goats and sheep could be inside or out -- their barn doors were open. It is always nice to go there. I missed seeing the rabbits, though:(

Then we went to the mall and looked around and ate pizza. After that we went to my friends' apartment (April and Phil). We played video games and board games with them. I was tired and starting to get a bit anxious so we went home afterward.

When we first got up, though, but after I took my shower, Michael and I exchanged gifts. I gave him two shirts, a fiction book, a nonfiction religious text (he likes to study Near Eastern religion), an electric razor (which I gave him early), and a Calico Critters family (little figures).

Michael gave me a silver heart pendant that he had engraved with my name and the date on the front and "I will love and be with you forever" on the back.<3 He also gave me a Neon Genesis Evangelion art book and earlier this week he gave me the Carl Jung and Mythology book. I loved it all:D We also exchanged short letters to each other, that I will scrapbook along with a photograph of us from today (hopefully my mother arrives home on-time from her trip so we can use her camera -- our camera phones are terrible).

So far today has been a good day, though the darkness of the night is making me a bit anxious again. I'm contemplating taking anxiety medication...

[livejournal.com profile] intralimina knit me a wonderful red sweater that I think looks like the phoenix:-D It's very fantastical and sparkly and magical-seeming. I'm glad I found the package, because my mother said we didn't have packages and it was soaked through! The plastic bag saved it.

I love it! Thank you so much, [livejournal.com profile] intralimina!♥

I spent Christmas day at home with my mother; Christmas Even night I watched the Nutcracker specials I have taped on vhs from a long time ago, which I do every year. My mother and I celebrated Christmas alone this year, though her boyfriend came over Christmas day for awhile and she had presents for him and everything. One of my gifts for my mother didn't arrive until the day after Christmas:-( My mother made the foods I asked for and she gave me wonderful gifts I had asked for (as well as a pair of replacement "hiking"-ish boots and shoes from an outlet mall we went to shortly before Christmas). She said if she could have she would have given me more. Aww♥ Though I felt like she did give me a lot. However, I was the only person besides her boyfriend she needed to buy presents for, so maybe it didn't feel as much to her (usually we have a bunch of relatives over for Christmas). And she wasn't going to buy my brother anything for Christmas, even if he hadn't been put back in jail for the holidays.

The green striped sweater I'm wearing is actually from [livejournal.com profile] sand_piper because it doesn't fit her anymore:D

I think my amazon.com account is a little messed up at the moment... Maybe due to all the holiday orders or something. I only have the option to track my packages on one of them, and even though I used the free shipping option on all, one looked like they were going to try and mail it differently (though I wasn't charged differently). It said one of my packages was delivered today but it wasn't; one of my mother's was, and I opened it thinking it was mine. I was too excited to bother reading the name on the package:-( It was some of my Christmas presents. Fortunately my mother isn't too upset with me. I just really thought it was what I ordered!

My mother and I went shopping today for things for the apartment. I need a tv and my mother was looking at the cheapest, smallest ones. Then she decided that a flat- screen tv (like, 3 times the cost of a bigger tv) would be good to buy because they are probably easier to move)@_@ It's no wonder I'm so conflicted over money issues. One second she tells me that we can't afford things and need to buy the cheapest things possible, the next minute she wants to buy a flat-screen tv just because it'll be "easier to move."-_-' We have not yet purchased a tv, however.

I received a package today from [livejournal.com profile] alive49 and [livejournal.com profile] bach2bach today. They gave me a cute stuffed kitty, a Care Bears pen, a strange, pink Hello Kitty bustier (!) notebook, and, of course, pictures from the wedding. Thanks everyone!:) I will send you guys stuff when I get some stuff together. You look very pretty in your dresses^.^
