I'm back from Alaska. The trip went well, though I miss [livejournal.com profile] sand_piper terribly now. My cats got depressed when I was gone, as they always do, and didn't eat that much. They both slept on my legs last night, right next to each other, even though they usually don't get along.

However, Lucrezia's eyes now look watery and swollen! I have to ask my mother when this seemed to happen. I didn't even notice it when I first got back. She hasn't had allergies in the past, I don't think. I don't know what could be wrong with her or how serious this is. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would really appreciate it. Even if I have to take her to a vet, I'd like to have an idea of maybe what could be causing this.

Glad your trip went well. :)

As for Lucrezia's eyes...it's possible she might have caught a cold, or perhaps something in the house is irritating her (i.e., dust). Cats can develop allergies randomly at any time just like people can so it could be that. Most of the time when I've seen cats with watery eyes, they've turned out to have some kind of respiratory infection, so that could be it as well. Don't take my word for anything, though -- I am not a vet. Maybe [livejournal.com profile] moggymania will see this and be able to help, she's practically a vet when it comes to cats!

Also, I watched "The Last Unicorn" last night (I'd never seen it before) and it made me think of you. :)

I hope that's all it is. She seems to feel more comfortable with warm cotton things against her eyes (I have a lot of things like that left over from my eye surgery stuff). My mother said it must be within the past couple days it happened, and she did clean my house while I was gone. So hopefully it's just something minor. I just tend to worry about her because of her past problems.

Random response: I watched "The Last Unicorn" so many times when I was really little. I didn't understand what was going on -- I thought that the unicorn died in the end, because the music was so sad. I'd sob most of the way through the movie, but yet I loved it.

I'd have to agree with the first LJ poster on this one about your cat. I hope she feels better, though, in the long run.

Do you have pictures? :) I like kitties.
