Today I took Bunny to the vet. There was no charge because she was a rescue cat! And I didn't have to pay for the fecal sample ($24.50) because my appointment counted as a referral from my mother. So I have a $.50 credit actually... The doctor and my mother both commented on what a good disposition Bunny has. She weighs a lot more than I thought -- over 10lbs! She looked so tiny to me at the shelter and here compared to my cats. But I think Mrs. Bates does have a very small frame, she's just chubby for her frame (but she was far heavier when I had her on the meat-heavy, human food grade cat food -- she would eat every 10 minutes then). Bunny is longer and leaner. Also, although Bunny looks orange with my mother's camera, she is recorded as being buff/white. She is a very faded orange shade with light brown mixed in. Her fur sheds as white.

The one bad thing is that Bunny has a virus and she might have picked it up at the shelter. However, the vet thinks she's already almost over the virus (which has symptoms like sneezing and her third (bottom) eyelid showing a bit more). I have 4 antihistimine 1/4 pills to give her and I may not have to purchase extra antihistimines because, like I said, the vet thinks she's almost over this virus, anyway. Neither of my other cats are showing signs of illness (no sneezing or anything). It was really, really hard to get Bunny to take her antihistimine today -- even coating it in butter. My mother doesn't think Joey's growth looks any larger, so we will still wait on that. If it does increase in size I will take him to Michael's vet for a check up and then the surgery and teeth cleaning (I assume).

I also filled out my microchip information for Bunny today and that will go in the mail tomorrow. I bought cat litter today (that's always difficult for me, because I want to use non-clay litter but the pine kinds I've used make my whole house smell; I don't remember why I switched away from Swheat Scoop... It's kind of expensive, but it's better for the cats than clay litter). I also saw the Felidae food I used to feed my cats (the human grade meat food that made Mrs. Bates really fat). I also saw Evo right next to it. I will probably buy a big bag of Evo once I get low on cat food, but I'm going to have to find a way to keep it up high so the cats can't get into it, yet I can still scoop it out, and put them on a more regimented diet so they don't eat too much like Mrs. Bates used to. I already give my cats distilled water to prevent crystals in their urine/bladder and because we don't have good tap water, so that seems in order, at least.
