Today I got some confusing not-so-fun-mail as well as some really fun mail (2 books -- gifts from a friend!). One was on totems and one is based on a fairy tale and is called East (Based on East of the Sun, West of the Moon). I already read the totem book. I relate to the idea of having totems and here are three I relate to in different ways, rabbit being the more generalized one.
1. Rabbit
I relate to the mannerisms and jumpiness/nervousness of the rabbit, and I'm a very creative person always filled with ideas (matching rabbit's fertility aspect). I feel tied to the moon and there is the whole myth of the rabbit on the moon. I have a lot of rabbit encounters, but who doesn't? There are tons of them. I feel like rabbit helps encourage me to get through my daily life with the positive traits I do have, and it also links with my greatest weaknesses of skittishness and disliking the unfamiliar. Anyways, I'll keep this short.
2. White-tailed Deer
Again, the prey instincts and behaviors, yet kicking hard when caught. I think I tend to be a generous person and sympathetic, both qualities I tend to associate with deer and how deer feels to me. I am a quiet and shy person like deer tend to be.
3. Trumpeter Swan
I have a passion for anything graceful and beautiful. I feel ties to the air and water out of the four elements. I really identify with the feel of wings and the ability to fly. I feel love and magic when I think of the swan. I feel at peace, like this is my more graceful side.
