I think I just destroyed my dvd remote by putting it in the washing machine... It was an accident.

I did that with a cell phone once, but I was able to bring it back to life. Try taking the batteries out, and then leave it to dry for at least a couple days.

It might not be truly destroyed. I washed a dried my cell phone and it worked. Since then I talked to a mother who washed her son's Ipod and it worked. My nephew fell or was pushed into a swimming pool with his cell phone and it still worked. One never knows...

I did just buy a new remote, but I want to get a new battery and see if it will still work... I know the battery at least is no good.

Yes, I've also known people who accidentally washed their cell phones and they worked after drying out. Not sure about remotes, though. I mean, they're certainly a lot less complex electronically than cell phones, but I'm not sure about the casing and how well they protect the electronic components.

The battery obviously stopped working, but I still have to check the remote. I did just get a new remote today, but I am curious if the old remote will work with a new battery. I can't imagine my cellphone working after being in the washer! That's incredible; I didn't know they were so sturdy.
