unico_love: (labyrinth gown)
I've been really tired lately, I think from a combination of general overload and taking my anticonvulsants again every day. Keppra used to make me tired, as I recall... As a result, I'm way behind and not doing a lot of what I want to be doing, and I'm going at a slow pace for what I am doing. Fervent emotion is replaced by exhaustion. Which I guess is okay. It's certainly more comfortable... But I hope to feel more awake soon. I feel bad when I'm not working on creative projects and my exhaustion is interferring with that. It's a silly complaint, but it's strange feeling like I'm sleeping and dreaming when I am really awake.

Instead of thinking, I took more quizzes. Though I've been building them up in a window for a couple days.

Which Ophelia are you?

You're Insane Ophelia! (It's not altogether a bad thing...) You have very sudden mood swings, going from unintelligible to cryptic to disturbingly insightful at the drop of a hat. People tend to dismiss what you say, but they can't quite manage it. Helena Bonham Carter played this Ophelia splendidly in Franco Zeffirelli's "Hamlet" (better known as "the one with Mel Gibson").

Which maiden of the seasons are you?

You are the Maiden of SpringThe spring maiden is one of young beauty and innocence. The spring is a time for rebirth and the natural process of life, where the flowers begin to bud, and the animals are able to come out of their winter nests, and rediscover life. Spring maidens are often flighty and oblivious to the terrible things around them, which is just fine with them; innocence, not ignorance, is bliss, afterall.

I didn't know you were taking anticonvulsant medication as well.

Yep, but I have had problems taking them, so often I go long time without taking any. Keppra and Tegretol are basically the only psychiatric medications I didn't have a bad response to (Klonopin is questionable... As I can behave crazily on it due to lowered inhibitions).

Do you have epilepsy? I don't ever recall hearing you talk about it.

It's questionable. My psychologist has temporal lobe epilepsy and thinks some of my experiences sound similar(including dangerous blank out spells I don't remember and things like that). My psychiatrist thinks it's quite possible. The neurologist I saw about my blank out spells was very unhelpful and thought I should just get ECT and that would solve everything. I don't know if there aren't many neurologists here or what, but I ended up being recommended to that same neurologist (and saw him again) when one of my eyes had a droopy eyelid.

Regardless, tegretol and Keppra seem to help with my mood and I stay more rational and seem to have less of my weird problems when I take them, so I try to take one if possible. But due to side effects I will go long periods without taking any. Most psychiatric medications make me insane or sick so I can't take much outside of anticonvulsants. I have been diagnosed Bipolar NOS in the past, but no one seemed really sure about that (it could just be PTSD and my other stuff; often when I read about bipolar I don't actually relate to it that well...)

So I don't talk about having epilepsy or even bipolar, though I have made posts wondering about them at times.

Huh, interesting. I've heard that anti-convulsants can work wonders with some people with Bipolar Disorder, for some reason. Although I don't think that Bipolar Disorder is really all that associated with epilepsy.

I know that a lot of people with bipolar go on anticonvulsants, but medication is a weird thing.
