Older Women Who Love My Socks
Oct. 12th, 2007 02:01 amOne amusing thing that happened the other day on my shopping trip with my mother:
I was outside sitting on a bench, waiting for my mother to come out of a shop. There were a lot of elderly people touring this town for fun. A group of older women came out of the shop before my mother, in a single file line. As they passed me the first woman said "Isn't that little girl's socks cute?" And then each woman, as she passed me, would look at my socks and comment on how cute they were.
I always love when people find happiness in small things, and certainly I enjoy cute socks and enjoy buying them, but my socks were barely visible (my pants are long on me because I am short, not even a full 5'1" barefoot). They were light blue socks with crescent moons and stars. It was a little odd feeling like I was one of the exhibits there, though... They didn't actually say "hi" or anything.
