Today Michael, Dan, and I went to Kuiper's Farm which has a pumpkin patch and an apple orchard. We went there last year when it was very cold, muddy, and empty. Today, even though it was a weekday and we went during the day, there were tons of families with kids of all different ages. It also was quite hot in the sun. We looked at the animals -- horses, cows, rabbits, assorted types of birds. We went to the petting zoo part and fed the sheep and goats. I was knocked on my butt by some of them pushing against me and a ton of children swooping around. There was a mockingbird repeatedly saying "hello!". That was cute. There was a "haunted forest" with animatronics and another nature path. We went through the "easy" and "medium" difficulty corn mazes, but skipped the hard one. Finally we came to the pumpkins and Michael and I each picked out a small pumpkin. The line to check out was huge, but shortly after we got in-line a cash only check out lane opened and we checked out there. Then we went to the apple store and bought apple cider doughnuts glazed with chocolate. I bought an extra half-dozen for my brother. On the way home we stopped at a reused toy shop that Michael and Dan were interested in (we also went last year).
After getting home my mother offered to buy us food and I had Chinese:-) That was very nice of her. She and my brother have been working on my mother's house a lot the past couple of days. Also my ancient stove/oven finally died so my mother ordered a new one. It arrives on Sunday. Other than that I did mostly reading today. It was a good day and anxiety-free other than the check out lines at the apple shop (I have bad anxiety about check out lanes).
