"Even if you've never experienced the wonderful things in life, only after something has been contaminated and marred will it... become a beautiful thing. Pain can be healed with gentle care, darkness can be removed with sunlight. Don't underestimate the small things." -- Fruits Basket chapter 41, pg. 22
Usually I'm a perfectionist and if I make a mistake I can't get over it. I think I've ruined everything, including myself. I generally can't forgive myself. I stay gloomy about situations thinking they're hopeless. I should try and remember this, give myself more room to think of mistakes and bad experiences as opportunities for growth. Beauty might result from previously terrible things. Nothing is ever truly hopeless, and even small good things matter.
