If Unico's part of what makes you the person you are, it must be a great show. I haven't seen it, though.
As for what you do, I wouldn't be the person I am now if someone hadn't done for me what you're doing. Since then, I try to love the unlovable. I think it's a good thing, if only you don't invest so much in it emotionally (you're not guilty if it doesn't work. Some really are as bad as they seem, and some... you can't save everyone. It's a nice thing to do but it's not your mission in life to make sure it works.) and don't put yourself in a position to be damaged if the person's not misunderstood, just evil. (That is, don't let them know any of the buttons that have been pushed in the past to hurt or manipulate you, and don't give them any information that they could use against you. Remember that you're trying to make a truce with an enemy. Be nice, but don't let them get ahold of any sensitive information.)
