Drawing Belldandy (From Ah! My Goddess!)
Sep. 15th, 2004 07:51 pmI decided to draw a few pictures of an anime character and I decided on Belldandy. I drew one today in pastel and might draw one (based on a different image) in colored pencil. Maybe I'll do another in pastel showing motion. I don't know yet. I have virtually no attention span, so I tend to do art fast and don't concentrate on copying my subject photorealistically, usually. I can draw realistically, but since I don't do it all that often anymore. I haven't drawn anime characters or anything in that style since I was about 14 either:/ It's fun, though. I like Belldandy a lot because her hair (and usually clothing) are soft and loopy. I might draw some pictures based on the images in my Sailor Moon art book later, as well.
Anyway, here are 2 photographs I took of the drawing I did (one is a close-up) and the original image. I am still figuring out my camera and I don't yet know how to take pictures sideways and then turn them rightside-up:-P So the pictures aren't really good. I'll probably start a collection of images of my drawings and paintings when I get around to taking pictures of them all and figure out how to flip the images. ( Belldandy! )
Personally, I like my close up best because you can see the strokes more, and I don't do a lot of blending usually, I just layer color.
[EDIT:I added another chunk to her hair (toward the right) to fill it out more. I apparently forgot:/]
