For what it's worth from a total stranger: I thought something wasn't technically a disorder unless it presents in every aspect of your life, to the detriment of everyday activities, not just specific activities (f.e., being afraid of using a bathroom stall because you're afraid other people will hear you peeing and judge you for how long you take, and so avoiding public bathrooms for fear of that silent judgement). It seems to me that being afraid of judgement about one's art and evading competition in regards to something like one's writing is actually rather normal. It's kind of like you wouldn't want to put yourself in a situation where people would be critical of your family. Your family is part of you; you don't want to hear anyone to talk down to you about them, as if theirs were better, or listen to someone complain about your family. I think a lot of writers have a similar familial connection with the stories they write. It makes sense you would want to steer clear of anything that threatened that.
