Today my mother checked Joey's ear again and she said the growth definitely doesn't look larger, it might actually be smaller and looks like it's starting to fall off (which would explain his ear scratching a couple days ago). It is teardrop-shaped with the thin part attached to his ear's skin. The vet said only to take him in if the growth gets larger and I imagine cancerous growths usually don't just fall off. I really hope he's okay and I don't have to take him back to the vet. I'd consider getting his teeth cleaned at Michael's vet's office, but that wouldn't be as expensive or as big of a deal as if he needed something removed and biopsied.
