Obsessing Over Foods

It's always been normal for me to obsess over a certain food and for awhile eat almost nothing but that food. Unfortunately right now one of those foods is pomegranate ice cream... I eat the pint in one sitting and then don't feel like eating the rest of the day. I'm also obsessed with my granola cereal and eating that for most of my meals. I know I should have more diversity, it's just most foods seem gross to me at any given time. Eventually I usually overkill on a type of food and switch my obsession to another food (sometimes I don't want to have the former food for a very long time).

Oh, I do that! I eat one type of food forever then throw my mom for a loop when I say I want something else then I'm stuck on that. It's just us being aspies! XD

It seems that way:-)

If it helps, I totally get that way, especially when I'm at home. String cheese, cereal, yogurt- those are my biggest foods like that.

Mine always changes in what "type" of food it is...

As you know, I do this with songs and to a lesser degree, book genres/authors. Since I spend a lot of money on books, I don't spend a lot on food, relatively, back in the US. But I switch sometimes amongst my favorite junk foods and how much of them I buy.

Pity I never got a final Fruit Roll-Up before I left. Walgreen's didn't carry them, I think, and Cub closed. :(

:-( Maybe you can have some soon through Matt or at least you will be able to in the fall...

*laughs* Yes, my sister constantly asks me to buy things for her in US before I come back here, so I suppose I could do the same with Matt. I wonder, though, how melted and squished they'd be after at least 24hours of traveling... But they're still Fruit Roll Ups and I admit I'm not picky about that!

I bet Fruit Roll-Ups would travel well! It seems it would have to be very hot for them to melt...

They melted in my room just being near the radiator. *sheepish smile* I didn't think of that when I organized my room.

I'm hungry... >_

Wow! I've never seen one melt.

Pomegranate ice cream sounds delicious! I've never tried it and now I want to.

But I can kind of relate to where you're coming from in a way. I do the same thing with music...i become obsessed with one song/piece/composer and listen to nothing else for awhile and burn myself out till I can't stand it anymore (for while) and then I move on to something else.

I do that with music too! And movies! And just about everything:D

I've never had pomegranate ice cream. I never did find those bars at target. Are those the ones you mean?

What kind of granola cereal?

[identity profile] unico-love.livejournal.com 2009-04-05 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
No, there is a kind of Pure Bliss pomegranate ice cream around here. The bars are Archer's Farm at Target (at least here). The granola cereal is also Archer's Farm/Target and called "chocolate chunk hazelnut biscotti" :-)
