Michael and I are officially engaged now!:D The ring has moved from my right hand to my left. I will have another ring as a wedding ring, but not as an engagement ring.
Thank you!:-) If you'd read my past posts I already bought the dress and we were going to get engaged on our anniversary, but we decided to do it last night instead.
Oh, I like that too! Diamonds are overrated. What kind of stone are you thinking of?
Our wedding rings look exactly like that silver design, except the material is electrum. Adam had bought two of the silver rings, one for me and one for himself, as promise rings; and when we went to Las Vegas, he pulled out mine and proposed with it, which was unique. And when it came time to pick out wedding rings, we just sent his silver ring to his uncle, who is a jeweler, and his uncle made the electrum rings and gave us the mold as a wedding gift. We have the mold in case one of us ever loses one of the rings. :)
I like the idea of the garnet. It's a strong stone, and people say that it can instill confidence in a person who wears it as jewelry. :)
Electrum is one of my favorite jewelry materials. It is an alloy of gold and silver, with traces of copper. Our rings are a deep gold color with a slight green tinge, which is known as green-gold electrum.
And I gave him a silver claddagh ring that he is now wearing on his left-hand too:-) Again, I'm sure he will have a better metal for his actual wedding ring.

That's the ring:-) In sterling silver. I'll get a white gold ring for my wedding ring. I prefer silver-colored things.

It's nice to see engagement rings that don't have diamonds.
This makes me want to find my original silver engagement ring:

Adam found it in a Celtic shop in my home town.

Heh, our rings were like promise rings too! I hadn't even heard of electrum!
