Wow. I didn’t have any expectation of what you would sound like, but for some reason, hearing your voice came as a surprise. It’s nice. =) it reminds me of my best friend’s voice, and I like her voice a lot.
I don't think I typically sound monotone. Depending on my state-of-mind at the time I can start sounding really weird/saying really weird things, but my voice never sounded "robotic" or anything. It might when I get angry; I know my voice sounds extremely cold and detached when I'm angry.
You have a really cute voice. It is a nice voice. I've actually been wondering for a long time what your voice sounded like.
I had an extremely odd voice with messed-up prosody and a monotone when I was a child. I got made fun of so much because of it. I'm still quite self-conscious about my voice, because even though it sounds a lot more "normal" than it did when I was a kid, the odd prosody can still be detected. I made a phone post a long time ago and can't bear to listen to it again... haha.
By the way, you mentioned that a lot of people don't like high-pitched voices. However, your voice didn't bother me at all. It's kind of unpredictable which voices will bother me... but I think it's because they have a sharp quality, which your voice doesn't seem to have.
Your voice sounds soothing to me:-) I actually think of my voice as deep, but I suppose it's really only deep compared to early childhood. My voice sounded way different in the voicepost than I thought it would sound. I thought my voice would sound much deeper.
I had various speech problems as a child, but my voice never sounded monotone. Often I spoke with a very animated intonation, you just couldn't make out any of the words;-)
I have no idea why I always that it was deep. Maybe it was deeper when it was more nasal? Or it just sounds much deeper to me when I'm actually listening to myself speak. I think I was speaking normally...
like your voice :) it's not too deep at all :P was good to hear you, and hope I did an adequate job transcribing it. Main thing I wasn't sure about was the name of what you were painting. Doh!
actually 60% if not more of what you hear of your own voice is heard through the sound reverberating through your cheekbones/jaw/etc. to your ear drums which changes the sound completely. This is why when a person hears themself on a recording they are usually shocked at how their voice sounds. (Keeper of useless information at your service)
Do people usually then hear their voice as deeper than it really is? That would make sense... I still feel my voice sounded deeper on recording too, back a few years.
Oh my gosh, that's sooooo cute!!! :-) Thanks for posting that, I've been curious to hear what your voice sounds like! You sound really sweet in that recording, and your voice didn't sound "deep" at all.
Hmm. I don't know. Everyone always sounds a lot odd to themselves I think. I tend to think I have a nasal voice, someone told me that once...I do know I pause a lot.
I like your voice. It's definitely not low at all. My voice is rather low for a female, I am a bit self concious about it, but most of the time I don't care enough to do much about it.
But yes, your voice is very cute : ). And you managed to make a pretty long recording. Whenever I take a venture into that realm, I can only bring myself to say one or two sentences.
